2011 BFL Rules:

When Donnie isn't golfing, he is putting together the BFL rules guide amongst other voluntary duties that he performs for the league.

Offense

  1. When putting  a WR or TE in motion , to go out on a pattern they must go outside Tackle or TE postion.
  2. You cannot put a player in motion and then flip the play while player is in motion, he must come to complete stop before you can audible again or change play.
  3. Cannot put goal line offense or defense in your audible package.
  4. Cannot go for a fourth down outside of your 50 yard line unless you’re down by 21 points at halftime or down by two scores (9 points) in the Fourth Quarter.
  5.  If you are across the fifty yard line (not on  the fifty yard line) your opponents 49 you can go for a fourth and inches not fourth and one yard (it must say inches)
  6. Outside of your opponents 35 yard line not inches one yard and any yardage greater you must punt or kick a field goal, if not under two minute before halftime.
  7. Inside your opponents 35 yard line, not on the 35 yard line, 34 yard line and in. If you are 2 yards or less you can go for a fourth down more than 2 yards kick a field goal or punt
  8. You can only run goal line offense or formation on and inside your opponents 10 yard .
  9. You cannot start out onside kicking at the beginning of the game. You can only onside kick if you are down by 2 scores or 21 points
  10. If you are backed up to your goal line you cannot run goal-line offense and your opponent cannot run goal line defense when you are in this situation
  11. You cannot call a play and audible down to a different formation with no intent of running the play you call. If your intent is good or you just made a mistake you may audible. If the players all set first at the line of scrimmage and then and only then audible to a play were all players go to their natural positions.
  12. Substitution is potion for position; no defensive players subs for offensive players. If the game put it in then its ok. example(fatigue)
  13. When catching a pass if your receiver is more than ten yards you must have the receiver click onto or high lighted  before you catch the pass.
  14. If your receiver is at least twenty yards down field you must be clicked on and controlling him clearly before the receiver starts to go into any type of animation.
  15. If you do not catch the ball by the rules set forth, by the BFL then you must punt the ball no matter what the situation. It will be checked by the league in the instant replay so you must stop at the completion of that play; no hear say allowed. We must be able to clearly see the problem to make a ruling. If both players agree without arguing then it can be resolved between the two

 

 

 

 

Defense

  1. You can not move players down into gaps on defense setting up blitz. Unless, its  the one player you are controlling on your play.
  2. You cannot move corners at all , if you do that is the  player you must control before play starts.
  3. You can only move the defensive lineman or line backer on the line out one space from the original position that he starts. When rushing in, you must control any player at the hiking or start of your opponents play; then you may switch to anyone. This means that you cannot move players and then control one at the start of a play. If you move him that is the player you control during that possession. (Five yard penality for repeat in fractions).
  4. You can manually move safeties down as long as they are not blitzing but not in the gaps
  5. You cannot audible down repeatedly on defense. Calling quarters and audible down to a four-three  man front and then taking the safety or corner that goes to the line and using him to play coverage.
  6. You cannot jump the screen on field goals or say anything to your opponent while he kicks a field goal.
  7. Substitution on defense are corner for corner, line backer for line backer, safety for safety, line man for line man.

 

Other Rules

  1. If you are standing around or you brought someone with you that is standing around, must let them know that there is no coaching in the BFL. This means keeping your opinion to yourself, and if possible after unless that person is willing to discuss it (You don’t know how a person deals with a lost or win)
  2. No profanity and if you talking junk between people try to be respectful of others and try not to involve anyone other than yourself and that person (no family or mama jokes)
  3. The BFL is suppose to be guys night out, so please try not to bring woman and children
  4. Absolutely NO alcohol or drugs of any kind brought to BFL game night. If you do indulge in these activities be prepared to be asked to leave if you are deemed out of control or you offend someone. Your hygiene is also of very high of importance we do understand that people do come straight from work but if your job leaves you with a bad smell you must address it before coming to the BFL game night, please.

            BFL WEATHER WEEKS

We at the BFL use a dice to roll to determine
What weather we play in on weather .We will be using Heavy Rain, Heavy Snow, Rainy,Wind and Snow. If you win toss you can choose were you play, if you have a Dome Stadium you can close it.

Forfeit Rules

  1. If you have 6 forfeits you are under review by the seventh forfeit, you’re out the league
  2. If you miss BFL Friday you should contact the people on your schedule first to let them know you will not be there. If it is a case were both parties were not there you need to come together and agree on a time and place to make up the game. All BFL games not played on Friday must be played by the next Wednesday and stats written down and signed by both parties and called in Wednesday no later or both parties will receive a forfeit.
  3. If you miss a BFL game night you must call the people you play and set up at time to play before Wednesday. You can not wait until Wednesday to call. It is understood by everyone that you need to make up games so scheduling should not be a issue. It is on you to make the game up so you will be the one that receives the forfeit not the person that was there BFL night if game is not played. So you should have called within at a decent time to be fair to the person that came that Friday night.
